William and Lucinda were the parents of nine children:

William served his country during the Civil War, enlisting at Indianapolis, Indiana in Sep 1864 in Company D, 29th Indiana Infantry. A Private, he was discharged in Chattanooga, Tennessee 16 Jun 1865 with rheumatism and eye sight loss.
Lucinda passed away 27 Nov 1883 in Marion County, Kansas at the age of 55. She was laid to rest in Marion Cemetery in Marion, Marion County, Kansas.
William, a farmer and blacksmith, passed away 26 May 1894 at the United States National Home for Disabled American Veterans in Leavenworth, Leavenworth County, Kansas. He was laid to rest in Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, Leavenworth County, Kansas.
