Thelma Hood
Suggested Edit: Thelma "Tom" Hood, 77, Milroy, died at 3:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 26, 1985, in Millers Merry Manor in Rushville.
Mrs. Hood was born May 5, 1908, in Rush County, the daughter of Jacob and Jessie Vollmer Brown. On Aug. 18, 1929, she married Lowell "Pete" Hood, and he preceded her in death Oct. 7, 1979. She was a member of the Milroy Methodist Church and the Milroy OES Chapter 471.
She is survived by two sons: Allen and Tom Hood, both of Milroy; three sisters, Mrs. William (Wilma) Houghland, Peg Gephart and Ruth Huddleston; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Wendell Brown.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Murphy-Burns Funeral Home in Milroy, with the Rev. Jim Bushfield officiating. Interment will be in the East Hill Shrine Mausoleum.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. An Eastern Star service will be recited at 7 p.m.
The family suggests memorials be in the form of donations to the John Sam Anderson Scholarship Fund.
