Son of George Lee and Rachel Louisa Councill Phillips. Served as Sgt, Co. E., 37th Regt. NC State Troops. Captured at Hanover Court House May 28, 1862 and exchanged on Aug. 5, 1862. Captured Aug. 2, 1865 at Petersburg and released June 16, 1865. He married Sarah Ann Cameline Ward on 5/12/1866. In the 1870 census Jordan was listed as a farmer, but by the time of the 1880 census, he had become a physician.
