Alvin O. Beery, 74, of 1227 East 6th, died April 30, 1995, at Haven.
He was born Oct 4, 1920, at Wilburton, the son of Sherman and Grace Clair Beery. He was a 1938 graduate of Hudson High School. A Hutchinson resident since 1947, he was a retired owner of Beery Plumbing and Supply Co.
He was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church, Loyal Order of Moose No. 982, Knights of Columbus Council No. 612, Franternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 2550, American Legion Lysle Rishel Post No. 68, Ducks Unlimited and the Mechanical Contractors Association, all at Hutchinson. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
On Aug. 24, 1967, he married Darl;ene Hanzlicek at Kingman. She died July 30, 1994.
Survivors include: a son, Jim, Wichita; two daughters, Barbara Hindley, Liberty, Mo., and Mary Conboy, Hutchinson; a stepson, Dennis Hanzlicek, Phoenix; a stepdaughter, Candy Huseman, Hutchinson; a brother, Tom, Visalia Calif.; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Parish rosary will be at 7 p.m. today at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Chapel, with Father Richard F. Stuchlik presiding. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to service time Wednesday at the mortuary. Miltary graveside service will be conducted by teh Fort Riley Honor Guard in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson.
Memorials may be sent to the American Heart Associatyion in care of the mortuary.
