FUNERAL NOTICES
LAIRD -- The friends and relatives of Mr. and Mrs. J. Parry Laird, Decatur, Ga; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur McD. Laird, Columbia, S.C.; Mr. John Parry Laird, Jr., New York, N.Y.; and Mr. G. Flake Laird, Decatur, are invited to attend the funeral services of Mr. J. Parry Laird this (Sunday) afternoon at 4 o'clock at the residence, 603 Sycamore Street, Decatur. Dr. J. G. Patton, Sr. will officiate. Internment at Decatur Cemetery. The following gentlemen are requested to act as pallbearers and meet at the residence: Dr. W. J. Houston, Mr. Charles McCulloch, Mr. A. S. Bucher, Mr. Sam Cobb, Mr. Houston Powell, Mr. B. Manley Boykin, Mr. W. O. Ford, Dr. Sole Cousins, Mr. Fletcher Pearson and Mr. R. M. Baker. A. S. Turner, funeral director.

John Parry Laird was the son of James Garland Laird and Mary Elizabeth Parry who were originally from Rockbridge County, Virginia.
He was united in marriage to Ada Belle Ferguson October 14, 1889 at the Presbyterian Church, Decatur, DeKalb, Georgia.
To their union were born four children:
Arthur McDougald Laird
John Parry Laird, Jr.
Greene Flake Laird
Douglas Laird
John Parry Laird was preceded in death by his parents and by his young son, Douglas, who tragically died as a toddler from burns sustained from a "leaf burning" fire.
