Feb 14, 1934, Ottumwa Courier:
Mrs. Clara Copple 60, formerly a resident of Ottumwa until about 5 years ago has died at the home of her son, W.F. Copple in Lincoln, Nebraska at 5 a.m. today. Mrs. Copple lived in Ottumwa until about 5 years ago.

Two sons; W.F. Copple of Lincoln and James E. Copple survive. Also a daughter Mrs. Ray Collett of Blakesburg; a sister Mrs. Frank Allender of Ottumwa; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A daughter Mrs. Clay Jones of Ottumwa preceded her in death.

Mrs. Copple was a life long member of the Security Benefit Association. The body will arrive here on Burlington train No. 2 tonight and will be taken to the Drake Funeral Parlor The Rev. Eugene Beach will officiate the service which will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be at Ottumwa Cemetery.
