Constance Alvena Bowman was born June 26, 1907, at Red Bluff, California, and passed away at her home in Haddam, Kansas, March 31, 1945, at the age of 37 years, 9 months and 5 days.

When a small child, Constance came with her parents and sister to Haddam where she has made her home ever since. She graduated from grade school and attended high school until her marriage to Glenn H. Huffman which took place at Belleville, Kansas, September 13, 1924. They established their home here and in the surrounding community.

This union was blessed with six children, three girls and three boys; Pvt. Walter Eugene Huffman of the Army Forces somewhere in the Pacific, Delores Irene, Marvel Louise, Mildred Jayne, Melvin Royce all of the home and Loy Selmer, who had made his home with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Bowman.

She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn Huffman 12 years ago, May 31, 1933. All of there years her life was a life of sacrifice to her family. Her children's welfare was her constant devotion. She was a true mother, a thoughtful friend and neighbor to all who knew her. Never complaining even in her short illness. A loving memory will always be cherished in the hearts of those left behind.

She leaves to mourn her passing her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest L. Bowman, two sisters, Selma Meerian and Eloise Blair, all of Vancouver, Washington, two brother, Cpl. Leroy Bowman of El Paso, Texas and Ernest C. Bowman Jr. better known as Jim, of Denver, Colorado, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews. Her being a Rebekah they marched in a group at the funeral.

Services were conducted at the Methodist church with Rev. Wayne Conant of Enosdale in charge, Burial was made in the Enosdale Friends cemetery, by the side of her husband.
