"Death Of Willis Jenkins - Prominent Stock Buyer and Farmer Dies of Paralysis
.
The community was shocked and grieved last Tuesday evening when the news came that Willis Jenkins, had died at his home in the McKendree neighborhood. Mr. Jenkins suffered a stroke of apoplexy about two months ago, but rallied from this attack and was able to be out doors. The fatal stroke came Tuesday afternoon when he was out in the field. He was moved to the house and lived but a few hours.
.
Deceased was one of the best known stock buyers in this section of the country. For a number of years he was associated in business with Benjamin Haworth, now of Centerville, Ind. About twelve years ago he and Fred Moore of McKendree began buying stock under the firm name of Moore & Jenkins.

Willis Jenkins was an honorable, upright man, and was highly respected by every one who knew him. He will be greatly missed in the community where he had lived practically all his life. He was a member of Russell Lodge, No 154, A.F. & A.M., of this place. Deceased was born near the place of his death, October 12, 1855, and died October 31, 1916, at the age of 61 years and 19 days.
