"Mr. Foster is Claimed by Death"
ELON COLLEGE - James Lee Foster, Jr., 62, of 613 E. College Avenue, assistant to the postmaster of Elon College, was dead on arrival at a Burlington hospital Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. He was stricken suddenly while at work at the Post Office.

A native of Raleigh, Mr. Foster was the son of the late Rev. James Lee and Myrtle White Foster. He was the husband of Mrs. Corina King Foster of the home, who survives, and had been employed at Elon College Post Office for approximately 30 years.

A graduate of Elon College, he also was graduated from the U.S. Postal school. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the First Christian United Church of Christ of Burlington, where he formerly served as a deacon and member of the church choir.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, is one sister, Miss Mary Lee Foster of Elon College.

Final rites will be held Friday morning at 11 o'clock at Rich Thompson Chapel in Burlington. Dr. Robert M. Kimball, pastor of the First Christian United Church of Christ will conduct the service. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
