Sidney Lanier Eason, 50, of Charleston, a general accounting manager with the State Ports Authority, died Thursday in a local hospital. The Funeral will be at 11 a.m. today in St. James Episcopal Churchyard, according to Stuhr's Downtown Chapel.
Mr. Eason was born in Charleston, a son of Lanier Eason and Treva Lavinder Eason. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia. He was a member of Phi Kappa Tau fraternity and the James Island Yacht Club. He was a member of the Army Reserves. He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church.
Surviving are his wife, Sharon Starke Eason, his parents of Charleston, a son, Eric Eason of Charleston; a daughter, Natalie Simpson of Charleston, a brother, Thomas Eason of Charleston, and a sister, Gary Brown of Charleston.
