Marion Whitcomb died at the age of 99, at Rowan Court in Barre, Vermont. She was the daughter of Alta (Chamberlin) Luce and Maurice Luce. She had attended Lympus Schools in Bethel, Vermont. She married Weston Whitcomb in 1936, after almost 21 years of marriage he died in 1957. She was a widow for almost 52 years. She worked for many years as a housekeeper in the Bethel area of Vermont. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, gardening flowers, dancing, fishing, and raising hens. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alta and Maurice Luce, her husband, Weston Whitcomb, two brothers, Harold Luce and Carlyle Luce, and three sisters, Addie Washburn, Ethelyn Adams, and Irene Butterfield, plus a great-grandson, Jonathon Casey. She is survived by: Two sons, Albert Whitcomb of Bethel, Vermont, and Robert Whitcomb of Fort Myers, Florida, a daughter, Beverly Whitney of West Braintree, Vermont, a sister, Bertha Purinton, two granddaughters, and five great-grandchildren.
