T.A. McElwrath owned a dry goods store in Dresden. He retired about 1906 and stayed in Dresden for a few years before moving his family to Mayfield Kentucky. His first wife was Emma P. Meadows who he married on March 23 1881. He and Emma had a child, Anna Neal McElwrath. His second wife was Mollie Brooks and they married on Dec. 28, 1897.
In the 1920 Census for Mayfield Kentucky the following children are listed:
Linda, born about 1902 (daughter)
George, born about 1911 (son)
Brook, born about 1916 (son)
His nephew Fred Mayo who was 21 yrs old was also living in the house.
