Mr. Allen was a son of the late C. C. Allen and Mrs. Clementine Boyett Allen of Ward 2. He was reared and educated in this parish, and joined the Methodist Church in 1916 at Lewis Chapel. He was affiliated with the Louisiana Highway Commission for many years and was a patient in the Greenwell Springs Sanitarium for ten years.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. H. Lewis and Rev. A. Stokes and interment was held in the Allen Cemetery Monday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.
The pallbearers were Bryant Sholars, R. W. Brewer, Jim Long, Aaron Drewett, Jim Bevill, and Walter Allen.
Surviving Mr. Allen are four children, Mrs. Jewell Canerday of Calvin, W. Wella Dee Allen, Rose Jenean Allen, and Bryant Allen, of Winnfield; three brothers, Wilmer Allen, Bud Allen, and Ira Allen, Winnfield, Route 2; three
sisters, Mrs. F. M. Cox, Rodessa, La., Mrs. Will Smith, Sikes, La., and Mrs. George Taylor, Winnfield, La., Route 2.
