Funeral services for Mr La Bruce held on Wednesday
J Percy LaBruce 54 City Clerk and Treasurer of Georgetown died at 8 am Tuesday at Georgetown County Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.

Funeral services were held at 5 pm Wednesday at Prince George Winyah Protestant Episcopal Church. Officiating was the Rev William A Willcox Jr acting rector. Burial was in the churchyard.

Mr LaBruce was born at Georgetown November 3 1902 and was a son of the late John and Pauline Tucker LaBruce. For a number of years he was associated with the Georgetown Times 10 years of which he served as publisher. For the past 11 years he has served as Clerk and Treasurer for the City of Georgetown.

He was a member of Prince George Protestant Episcopal Church.

Surviving are his widow the former Miss Theodora king of Georgetown; two daughters Miss Alice LaBruce and Miss Margaret LaBruce a son John P LaBruce Jr all of Georgetown; a brother Arthur M LaBruce of Georgetown and two sisters Miss Alice L Ravenel and Lucy L Powell both of Georgetown.
