Minnie was the only child born to Albert Walter Dunn and Mary Augusta Seidel. After Mary Augusta died at age nineteen, guardianship was given to her uncle Herman E.P. Seidel and his wife Sophie Kohrs Seidel. They resided in Karnes County Texas.
She married Otto Herman Porter, son of Dave Simon Porter, June 22, 1904 in Smiley, Gonzales County Texas.
Minnie for many years operated a boarding house in her home. After her death the house was sold to the Karnes City schools, who tore it down and built the current school band hall.
Three children were born to this couple: Herman Otto, Albert Walter, and Julius David.
