Lena Clay Morgan Shuler Edwards, 82, died Friday, May 1, 2009, at her residence.

Visitation is today from 5-9 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko, MS. Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2009, at Jordan Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Edgefield Cemetery. Rev. Tony Black and Rev. Jeremy McCrory will officiate. Jordan Funeral Home in Kosciusko, MS is handling the arrangements.

Mrs. Edwards will be remembered by her family and many friends for her cooking and her "my house is your house" attitude. She sat with the elderly and sick for many years. She also worked for Love's Greenhouse for many years. Mrs. Edwards was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church in McCool. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include: her daughters, Paulette Shuler of Clinton, Janette McCrory (Joey Halderman) of Kosciusko and Joy (Dewey) Horne of Kosciusko; and her only son, Bruce (Mia) Shuler, of China.

She is also survived by her loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Chris (Kim) Mallory, Garland and Isabel Helms of Mobile, AL, Heather, Morgan, Noah and Madelyn Helms of Mobile, AL, Brandy and Stan Johnson of Memphis, TN, Stephanie (Michael), Chandler and Tristan Wolverton of Allen, TX, Jeremy (Laura) and Jonah McCrory of Mt. Juliet, TN, Joe (Leighanne), Addison and Haden Horne of Ackerman, MS, Jason (Debra), Ryan and Johnathan of Kosciusko, MS, Dustin (Bobbie) and Laike Horne of Kosciusko, MS, Melanie (Jeremy) and Micah Watson of Colorado, Ryan Shuler of Colorado, Elizabeth, Aaron, Lane, and Abby and Emma Johnson of Louisville;

sisters, Mamie (Jay) Shuler of Santee, CA and Lorena Wasson of Vicksburg; brothers, Clifton Morgan of Alaska, and Lamar (Hilda) Morgan of Pascagoula, MS; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving daughter, Annette Shuler; her parents, Harrison Clay and Iva Etta Black Morgan; sisters, Estelle Mullane, Earline Schlosky and Betty Rushing; and brothers, Elmer Morgan, Josh Morgan, Harrison Morgan, Jr. and Willie Morgan.

Pallbearers are her grandsons, Chris Helms, Michael Wolverton, Jeremy McCrory, Joe Horne, Jason Horne, and Dustin Horne.

Shaw - Horne wedding set in church ceremony

Debra Shaw and Jason Horne of Kosciusko are engaged to be married Saturday, May 20, at 5 p.m. at the Williamsville Baptist Church.

Rev. Jeremy McCrory, cousin of the groom, will officiate.

Miss Shaw is the daughter of Steve and Beth Shaw of Kosciusko. She is the granddaughter of James Burrell and the late Elizabeth Burrell of Goodman and the late Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Shaw of Lexington.

She is currently employed as a registered nurse at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, and will join the staff at the Kosciusko Medical Clinic with her move to Kosciusko.

The prospective bridegroom is the son of Dewey and Joy Horne of Kosciusko. He is the grandson of Lena Edwards and the late Clinton Shuler of Ethel, Jean Burrell of Sallis and Pete Horne of Kosciusko.

He is employed as a welder with Rowan Companies Inc.

All friends and family are invited to attend the wedding and the reception immediately following the wedding in the fellowship hall of the church.
