ELWOOD — Sylvester R. "Vessie" Hahn Sr., 83, of Elwood, died Dec. 27, 2009, after an extended illness.

He was a U.S. Army veteran

Survivors include three daughters, Rebecca (Bill) Capps, Sylvia "Cookie" (Doug) Arnold and Gloria (Harry) Carter; and two sons, Sylvester "Butch" (Sylvia) Hahn Jr. and Mark (Penny) Hahn.

Preceding him in death was his wife of 64 years, Wavalyn G. "Danni" Hahn, their daughter Wavalyn Diane Hahn, his parents William Lou Hahn and Lesta Jane Sosbe and numerous brothers and sisters.

Service 11 a.m. Wednesday at Dunnichay Funeral Home in Elwood. Burial in Elwood Cemetery Association in Elwood.
