Funeral services were held at the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Almelund, Friday, January 18 at 2:00 pm for Andrew Peterson Anderson, 77 who died Monday, January 14. Officiating at the service was Rev. O. T. Erickson, pastor of the church.
Andrew Peter Anderson was born in Amador Township, Chisago County, Minnesota, May 28, 1874. Most of his life was spent in this community. He was baptized in the Chisago lake Lutheran church at Center City on May 29, 1874 and confirmed there on May 30, 1889.
On May 25, 1904 he was united in marriage with Alma Sjoberg who preceded him in death on January 15, 1938. There were no children.
In the year 1900, the family moved to the Almelund community and his membership was then transferred to the Immanuel Lutheran Church there. He has been an active member of that church ever since.
In 1920 he left the farm and moved to Almelund where he has resided ever since. For some 20 years, he was sexton in the church starting at about the time when the new church was built in 1926 and continuing in that position until 1946. He was treasurer of the Sunday School for many years and served on the Church Board of Administration for many years.
Remaining to mourn him is one brother, Charles E. Anderson, and one sister, Mrs. Clara Sjoberg.
Andrew made his home with his sister during the last 5 years. Also surviving him are several nieces and nephews, several grand nieces and nephews, and other relatives.
