Joel Z. Zook, 88, of 994-A Gap Road, Kinzers died Friday, May 1, 2009 at his residence after an illness of two months. Born at Zook's Corner, he was the son of the late Jacob K. and Anna D. Zook Zook. He was the husband of the late Rachel F. Glick Zook who died July 4, 2004. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Surviving are: three sons, Christian B. married to Sarah Fisher Zook, Emanuel G. married to Susie Stoltzfus Zook, both of Kinzers, John J. married to Debbie Paul Zook of New Providence; a daughter, Emma married to Moses B. Glick of Lancaster; daughter-in-law, Mattie Zook of Hopewell, OH; son-in-law, Omer B. King married to Emma Huyard of Greene, NY; 36 grandchildren; 81 great-grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 5 step-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Amos married to Emma Allgyer Zook, Christian married to Katie Stoltzfus Zook, Jonas married to Elsie Stoltzfus Zook, all of Gap; two sisters, Fannie Beiler of Gordonville, Sarah Streicher of Newton, Canada; sister-in-law, Anna Belle Weaver Zook of Fairmount Homes, Ephrata. He was preceded in death by: a son, Jacob Zook; daughter, Anna King; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers, John, Jacob, Gideon and Simon Zook.
