Rites Today for Mrs C. Teller

Funeral services will be held today, Thursday at the Turner Funeral Home with the Rev Weldon Whitenack officiating. Burial will be in the Vanorsdall Cemetery near Ollie, Iowa.
Mrs. Catherine Ann (Smithart) Teller, daughter of James and Mary Ann (Keasling) Smithart was born August 17, 1882 at Ollie, Iowa and departed this life June 20, 1961 at the Golden Age Nursing Home of Centerville, Iowa at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 3 days.
On February 26, 1901, she was united in marriage to Wilbur R Teller. To this union 5 children were born.
Mrs. Teller spent her early life on a farm near Ollie, Iowa where she remained a member of the Methodist Church until her death. Since 1932, she and Mr Teller and their family have lived in the Moravia vicinity. They retired and moved off the farm in 1947.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1952. Also preceding her in death were an infant son, her mother and father, one sister, five brothers, one grandson and one great-grandson.
Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Mrs Myrtle Shirkey, Libertyville, Iowa and Mrs Opal Regan of Moravia; two sons, Wilford of Fairfield, Iowa and Ivan of Altoona, owa. She is also survived by three sisters, Mrs Vernie Nicoli of Memphis, Mo, Mrs Eva Reider of Sigourney, Iowa and Mrs Goldie Hall of Ottumwa, Iowa; by six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Mrs Teller moved to the nursing home just a week before her death. She had been in failing health for the past year, spending much of her time in the hospital and in being confined to her home.
