She was born in Bourne and lived in Onset most of her life before moving to New Bedford. She graduated from Wareham High School and Mt. Ida Junior College.
She married Harry Botsch in 1948 and was widowed in 1953. She remarried Pete Strawn in 1955 and had one daughter.
Mrs. Strawn worked in the National Bank of Wareham for 15 years and later for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for 10 years.
She was a member of the Jr. Monday Club, the Wareham Garden Club, Little Harbor Country Club.
She enjoyed gardening and playing bridge.
Survivors include her daughter, LouAnn Cuddemi and her husband, Justin of New Bedford; 2 granddaughters, Victoria and Andrea of New Bedford; other close family members include her mother's half brother, Jerome Deane of Marion and friend, William Loughman; and her mother's half sisters, Jane Ladner and her husband, Allen of Marion and Marie Bassett and her husband, Don of Florida.
Her graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 4, 2009, in the Agawam Cemetery, Wareham. Visiting hours have been omitted.
