Mary G. Tannahill, 64, of Salina, mother and mother-in-law of Suzanne and Cory Schrater of Valley Center, died April 27, 2009. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. April 29 at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina, with rosary at 6:30. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. April 30 at the Webster Conference Center, 2601 N. Ohio, Salina. Cremation will take place after the service and private family inurnment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Salina.
She was born Dec. 9, 1944, the daughter of Alphonse and Ella (Comeau) Giroux in Concordia. She married Barton Tannahill, July 16, 1977, in Salina.
She was co-founder and past executive director of "Focus On The Future" youth facility. She also co-owned and operated The Glass Shop and Mr. Windshield glass repair companies. She was a member and past president of the North Salina Business Association, member and past president of the Saline County Foster Parent Association and a member of the Kansas Children's Alliance.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Frank and Ivan Giroux, and grandson Cayden Eck.
Other survivors include husband Barton Tannahill of Salina; children and spouses Glenda and Robert Eck of Marysville, Randy and Nora Richter of Lakin, Rita and Kenny Cross of Salina, Denny Richter and fiancée Denise of Chicago, Mary and Leon Klaus of Salina, and Maria and Robert Umberfield of Edgecomb, Maine; grandchildren Haylee Eck, Garrett Eck, Douglas Richter, David Richter, Amanda Richter, Patrick Schrater, Courtney Schrater, Parker Schrater, Adam Cross, Eric Cross, Kayla Cross, Brooke Klaus, Kaitlyn Klaus, and Alex Umberfield; great-grandchildren Kelbi Hoover, Kayda Richter, Noah Richter and Brody Brown.
Memorial contributions are to Focus On The Future Foundation.
