Carl Cornelius Crenshaw Sr., 80, of Bethany, a retired employee of United Gas Co., died at 7 p.m. Saturday at his home after a sudden illness. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today at the Bethany
Baptist Church with the Rev. Calvin Cantrell, pastor of West Monroe Baptist Church and the Rev. J. W. Joiner, pastor of Bethany Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Providence Cemetery. Pallbearers were J. A. Dunman Jr., W. H. Crenshaw, Jack Alexander, James Youngblood, J. C. Darby and A. A. McKelvey.
A native of Panola County, Texas, Mr. Crenshaw lived in Bethany most of his life and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, Carl C. Crenshaw Jr., pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Minden; one daughter, Mrs. B. H. Jackson of Bethany; and nine grandchildren.
Mr. Crenshaw's brother, Wayne H. Crenshaw of Bethany, a retired oil field driller, died on May 26 at the Veterans Administration Hospital here.
