Funeral services for George Ersken Anderson, 94, Ben Wheeler, were held at 2 p.m. January 2 in the Eubank Funeral Home Chapel, Canton, with Revs. Mike Boyett and Ronnie Chesser officiating.
Burial was in the Holly Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Anderson died December 31 in a Mesquite hospital.
He was born December 25, 1899, in Mississippi to Thomas S. and Beedie V. Anderson. He resided in the Martins Mill area since early childhood and was a member of the Holly Springs Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lometa Courtney.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Anderson, Ben Wheeler; daughter and son-in-law, Nona and Bob Goble, Garland; son-in-law and his wife, Bill and Norma Courtney, Ben Wheeler; brother, Hubert Anderson, Canton; sister, Susie Ross, Broken Bow, Oklahoma; two grandsons and a granddaughter-in-law, Tony and Caren Courtney and Maxey Courtney; granddaughter, Cheri Goble; two great-granddaughters, Caley Courtney and Elaina Contreras; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Douglas Hassell, Herman Johnson, Allan Sides, Winston Johnson, Herman Johnson, Jr. and Alex Body.
