Wilma Jean (Hensley) Byers of Bedford, IN, died Sunday, April 8, 2001, at her residence. Born on August 29, 1930, in Jonesville, VA, she was the daughter of Nova T. and Ruby (Hines) Hensley. She married Claude R. Byers on August 20, 1949, and he died on June 8, 1981.

Surviving are her companion, Karl F. Klumpp, Jr. of Bedford, IN; one daughter, Robin Bailey of Mitchell, IN; one brother, Wendell Hensley of Oolitic, IN; and three sisters, Norma Bagby and Janice Hedrick, both of Bedford, IN, and Irene Murray of Muncie, IN; two granddaughters, and three great-grandchildren.

She was retired from Naval Surface Warfare Center at Crane and was currently employed at WalMart in Bedford. She was a member of Oolitic Baptist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, and Delta Sigma Kappa Sorority.

Services for Wilma Byers will be at 10 AM Wednesday, April 11th, at the Day & Carter Mortuary with the Rev. Richard Tallman officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery.
