Funeral services for Ms. Delois Gail Alexander, 67, formerly of Wilson, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, May 2, 2009, at the Wilson Assembly of God Church with Rev. Dale Tarp officiating. Interment will follow at Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.


Delois was born Nov. 11, 1941, south of Wilson, to the late Mr. Dennie Ballard and Mrs. Opal Obine (Holaway) Alexander. She departed this life Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at her home in Ardmore.


Delois was raised in Wilson, graduating from Wilson High School in 1961. She was a lifelong and faithful member of the Wilson Assembly of God Church, being baptized there at an early age. She was a member of the Wilson Assembly of God Church for over 60 years and was always very active in the Women's Ministry. She enjoyed lending a hand whether it was cooking fried pies, holding garage sales or ministering to those in need. She tremendously enjoyed fellowshipping with other Christian women. Delois cherished all her family and always looked forward to visiting with them.


Delois was preceded in death by her parents, Ballard Alexander, Dec. 12, 1997, and Opal (Holaway) Alexander, March 26, 1992.


Survivors include her sister, Maureen Barrett and husband Ken of The Woodlands, Texas; brother, Wayland Alexander and wife Gayle of Ardmore; three nephews, Mark Barrett and wife Michelle, Dennis Alexander and wife Kristen and Paul Alexander and wife Anne; one niece, Debbie Edgar and husband Brian; 11 great-nieces and great-nephews; two very close friends, Billie Webb and Sandy Harbaugh; and numerous other cousins, church family and friends.


Pallbearers will be Harold Sanders, Gary Sanders, Fred Alexander, Terry Bromlow, J.H. Hayes and Daryl Alexander. Honorary bearers will be Ronald Alexander, Charles Alexander, Gene Brawley, Donald Sanders and Ken Holaway.


In memory of Delois, memorial contributions may be sent to Cross Timbers Hospice, 207 C St. SW, Ardmore, OK 73401 or the Wilson Assembly of God Church, 828 U.S. Hwy 70A, Wilson, OK 73463.


Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home in Wilson.
