James Weathers Pierson was born the son of Shadrack Pierson and Rachel Clinch Pierson. He was born one of a set of triplets.
Shadrack Pierson was a decorated soldier in the Revolution War and is recognized by the Daughters of the American Revolution. He is buried at Craig Cemetery in Scottsburg, Scott Co., Indiana with his wife Rachel Clinch Pierson.
James W. Pierson married Lanthy Shockley on March 16, 1811 in Bourbon Co., Kentucky. The couple had several known children. Barton Stone Pierson and Samuel S. Pierson are the most noted children.
A note from the Jackson County Historical Society reveals there was a cemetery called Slate/Pierson, however, it no longer exists or has any stones.
I wanted you to know that James Weather Pierson had 2 wives. First, Lanthia "Lanthy" Shockey, who you have. She died in 1826. On 28 Jan 1827, he married Lucretia Morgan. All the children after 1827 are Lucretia's children.
