Charles William Naugle, 82, of Avon Park, Fla., died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003, at the Good Shepherd Health Care in Lakeland, Fla. Born Nov. 23, 1921, in McConnelsburg, Pa., he was a son of David Daniel and Isa Frances (Strait) Naugle. He married Laura Jean Runion on June 30, 1941. She died July 27, 1996. Surviving are two sons, Raymond, Sycamore; and Ed, Sebring, Fla.; two daughters, Winnie Garrett, Lakeland, Fla.; and Jeannett Bond, Forest; eight grandchildren; 12 stepgrandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; a sister, Chloe Runion, Fremont; and a friend, Ilene, Avon Park. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and David; and four sisters, Betty, Helen, Myrtle and Freda. Mr. Naugle served in the U.S. Marines, and had worked at National Machinery and NAPA Autoparts in Tiffin, E&R Fixit in Sycamore and the Sycamore and Tiffin police departments. In Florida, he worked at Camper Coral in Sebring. He attended the Baptist church at Avon Park. Mr. Naugle was a life member of the VFW in Upper Sandusky, AMVETS in Tiffin, Masonic Lodge 579 in Sycamore, Shriners of Tiffin and Scottish Rite of Toledo. He enjoyed working on vehicles, golfing, traveling and visiting family and friends. Memorial services were held at the recreation hall at Lake Glenada in Avon Park earlier this month. Graveside services will be held Jan. 10 at 1 p.m. in Fairmont Cemetery, Tiffin, with Carl Bowen officiating.
