Anthony "Tony" S. Ill, 76, of 1300 E. Kercher Road, Lot 48, Myerstown, died Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at his residence. He was the husband of Janice C. Clark Ill and the late Joan Anspach Ill. Born in Lebanon on January 30, 1933, he was the son of the late Adam J. and Julia E. Katos Ill. He had worked for over 30 years at Quaker Alloy and was a life member of the American Legion and VFW. Tony loved football and NASCAR and was an avid Steelers and Jeff Gordon fan. He loved fishing and hunting. Tony also played on the first football team at Lebanon Catholic. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served as a radar man on the USS Barton. Tony loved his family dearly and treated his family and stepchildren as if they all were his own. A dear man and will be greatly missed. Surviving in addition to his wife, Janice, are a son, Anthony J. Ill of Lebanon; a daughter, Janell Lainster of Chandler, Ariz.; four step-sons, Kevin Schoonover of Newmanstown, Scott Schoonover of Newmanstown, Todd Schoonover of Temple, Pa., Kerry Strickler of Leesport, Pa.; 13 grandchildren; and six greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Toni Arnt; a son, Robert Ill; a brother, John Ill; and a sister, Catherine West. Funeral services Wednesday at 10 from Thompson Funeral Home Inc., 126 S. Ninth St., Lebanon. Interment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Viewing Wednesday morning, 9-10, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association, 3544 N.
