Neva grew up on the family farm near Stamford, NE. and attended Stamford (NE.) School through 10th grade.
In 1926, the family moved to Holdrege, NE. She graduated from Holdrege (NE.) High School in 1927. She attended Hastings (NE.) College and received her teaching certificate.
Neva taught in rural schools for two years. She was employed at Hested's 5 and 10 Cent Store in Holdrege, NE. and later at the J. M. McDonald Department Stores, Co. in the Holdrege, NE. store, where she made draperies.
On April 2, 1935, she married Paul Wohlgemuth. In 1948, the family moved to a farm north of Holdrege, NE. and farmed there until 1979. The couple retired and moved to Holdrege, NE.
Neva was a member of The First Methodist Church of Holdrege, NE. and was active with the United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Jolly Janes Extension Club, Mothers Club, Rook Club and was a volunteer at Holdrege (NE.) Memorial Homes for many years.
Survivors are: daughter, Jane Johnston of Fort Collins, CO.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Paul Wallace Wohlgemuth; a son; three brothers and five sisters.
Interment was in the Prairie Home Cemetery, Holdrege, NE.
