Front Royal, Va., May 4. - Mrs. J. E. Pope, aged seventy years, committed suicide at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Albert Greenwall, at noon yesterday by shooting herself through the heart. The weapon used was a double barreled shot gun, the property of her son-in-law.
The absence of Mrs. Pope was not noticed until her daughter was ready to serve dinner. Her clothing was burning when the body was discovered. No cause is given for the rash act.
Mrs. Pope is survived by several grown daughters.
