-Carol K. Ackerman, 79, went to be with the Lord Aug. 6, 2007. She was born Dec. 23, 1927, to Marguerite and Barton Willoughby in Ponca City, Okla. She was married to Daniel Spelick in September 1951 in Evanston, Ill., and they had three children.
-After being widowed, she married Richard Ackerman in April 1966, where they resided in Arlington Heights, Ill. She spent the last 30 years of her life in North Idaho.
She was preceded in death by Daniel Spelick in 1962, Richard Ackerman in 2002, brother, Bart Willoughby; sister, Lynn Hengel; and grandson, Clinton Harsky in 1973.
Carol is survived by her brother, John Willoughby, Savannah, Ga.; daughters, Kathleen Harsky, Palatine, Ill., Eileen Westerberg, Post Falls; and her son, David Spelick, Hayden. Grandchildren include, Michelle (Harsky) Ahnen, Rolling Meadows, Ill., Guy Spelick, Athol, and Marie Westerberg, Post Falls. She is also survived by her sons-in-law, Michael Harsky, Palatine, Ill., and Richard Westerberg, Post Falls.
-At her request there will be no service. It was wished instead that donations be made in her name to the Salvation Army: P.O. Box 773, Lewiston, ID 83501; the Disabled Veterans of America or Hospice of North Idaho: 9493 N. Government Way, Hayden, ID 83835.
-Yates Funeral Home was entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
