Services for Roy C. Bankston, 83, of Lubbock will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Southside Church of Christ with Tommy Hicks officiating.

Burial will follow in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home.

He died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, in University Medical Center.

He was born in Hill County on Jan. 7, 1916 and married Fay Davis on June 21, 1952 in Clovis, N.M. He had been a former employee of Lubbock Cotton Oil Mill and Chancy Sand and Gravel. At the time of his death, he was employed by Lubbock County as a jury parking lot attendant. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Southside Church of Christ. He was a former member of the Lubbock Elks Lodge.

Survivors include one step-daughter, Betty Jo Watkins of Lubbock; one sister, Evelyn Prado of Lubbock; and numerous nieces and nephews.
