Bruce William Brown, age 50, died following a sudden illness at his home in Iowa City on Monday, July 25, 2005. A celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday at the Cornerstone Evangelical Free Church near Williamsburg, IA with Pastor Eric Nygren officiating. Burial will be in the Community Cemetery, rural Deep River. Visitation will be held from 5 PM until 8 PM Tuesday at the Powell Funeral Home in North English. He is survived by his parents William and Marlys (Merck) Brown of North English, IA; two sisters: Christine Koehn (Kevin) of North English, IA and Donna Gorsch (Mick) of Millersburg, IA; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. A memorial fund has been established for Systems Unlimited Inc. In Iowa City and the Easter Seal Society of Iowa. He grew up on the farm west of Millersburg and worked several years at the Work Center in Conroy. When Bruce was 29, he moved to a Systems Unlimited Home in Iowa City. He enjoyed coming back to the farm for visits and was a fan of "Ford" vehicles and tractors. Bruce attended the Cornerstone Evangelical Free Church near Williamsburg and while in Iowa City attended the River Community Church. He considered himself an evangelist and last October went to see the Reverend Billy Graham in Kansas City. He died following a sudden illness at his home in Iowa City on Monday, July 25, 2005
