The 28 October 1945 Sunday Morning edition of the Chico Record newspaper included a lengthy article spanning multiple pages, entitled, "Company G's Story from Inception to Okinawa and Back." This article included a sentence or two on each of the men who were members of company G at the war's beginning. "Frank J. Woodmansee was commissioned [a lieutenant of Infantry] at Fort Benning and served in the Southwest Pacific Area."

Obituary which appeared in the Chico Enterprise Record newspaper at the time of his death: Frank Woodmansee. A chapel service for Frank Woodmansee, 72, of Chico, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Brusie Funeral Home. He died Monday, December 16, 1991, in a local hospital.
Woodmansee was born Dec. 28, 1918, in Bieber [Lassen Co., Calif] to William and Pearl Woodmansee. He graduated from Chico High School in 1937.
During World War II, he served with the 184th Infantry, and rose to 1st lieutenant. He worked as a printer for 35 years at the Enterprise-Record, and then at Rosicrucian Press in San Jose. He was a member of Chico Elks Lodge 423.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma of Chico; three sons, John, Fred and Bill, all of Chico; five brothers, Bill of Chico, Jim of Hayward, Fred of Davis, Edwin of Magalia and Don of Sacramento; two sisters Iola Brewton of Magalia and Aenene Robinson of Fallon, Nev.; and five grandchildren.
The Rev. Carl Wilfrid of Faith Lutheran Church will conduct the service. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Golden Gate Cemetery in San Bruno. Military Honors will be by Chico Post No. 1555 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
