Services for Glenn L. "Dub" Gilmore, 72, were held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Bixby First United Methodist church with the Rev. Richard Hedger officiating. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery in Wagoner under direction of Leonard Funeral Home of Bixby. Pallbearers were Barney Thompson, Norman Jones, John Griffin, Don Driscoll, Eugene Conrad and Art smith.
Born August 12, 1914 in Wagoner, Oklahoma, Mr. Gilmore was the son of Glenn L. and Gertrude (Miller) Gilmore. He died July 13, 1987 in Tulsa. He had lived in Bixby since 1938 and had owned and operated the movie theater and bowling alley for many years and then the Gilmore Hardware until his retirement.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Chamber of commerce and Optimist Club and served as mayor of the City of Bixby during the 1950s. He was also a Scoutmaster for 25 years.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby of the home; a son, John of Bixby; two daughters, Glenda Harder of Tulsa and Mary Miller of Broken Arrow; a brother, Bill of Wagoner; a sister, Frances Anderson of Scottsdale, Arizona; and five grandchildren.
