Dennis McQueary, 72, died Sunday, April 26, 2009, at Willow Crossing Health and Rehabilitation in Columbus. He was a resident of Columbus and a former resident of Columbia, Ky.

Survivors include two sisters, Mable Vincent of Edinburgh and Srena Burton of Troy, Ohio; three stepsons, Billy, David and Larry Matthews, all of Columbia; a stepdaughter, Mary Morrison of Columbia; seven stepgrandchildren; and several great-stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Gracie (Burton) McQueary; his wife, Margaret (Cook) Matthews McQueary; and eight siblings, Woody and Coy McQueary, Cecil and Jewel Burton, Betty Dargel, Hazel Harmon, Daisy Burris and Louise Absher.

The Rev. Ralph Foster will conduct a service at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia. Visitation will begin at 4:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Interment will be at Bearwallow Cemetery in Columbia.

He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Cook Matthews McQueary on September 11, 2002
Survived by two sisters: Mable Vincent of Edinburgh, IN & Srena Burton of Troy, Ohio
Three step-sons: Billy Matthews, David Matthews & Larry Matthews of Columbia, Ky.
One step-daughter: Mary Morrison of Columbia, Ky.
7 Step-Grandchildren, several step Great Grandchildren, several nephews, nieces &
A host of other relatives & friends survive
