He was born May 17,1931, in Ribolt, Ky., a son of the late Benjamin Applegate and Mildred Cooper Applegate.
He was a retired United Methodist minister of 50 years.
Surviving are his wife, Bonnie Crawley Applegate; one daughter, of South Shore; three granddaughters; and one sister, of Maysville, Ky.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at Morton Funeral Home in South Shore, Ky., with Mark Girard, Bob Sweeney and Tami Coleman officiating. Burial will be in Siloam Cemetery in South Shore. Visitation will be Tuesday 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
