There must have been a great love in this family. From the history of the family you will see the love they must have had.
The community where they lived was named after the oldest son, Taliaferrio Clarence. For many years it was known as Clarence, Blount Co, AL
David S Moore, Jr. and Joseph Grover Moore both became doctors. They were part owner of South Highland infirmary in Birmingham. It was at their mother's funeral that they were led to donate money for a new consolidated school in honor of their deceased mother, therefore, the name Susan Moore School. The school was built on their property.
In 1982 the community saw the need to incorporate. Susan Moore High School had grown much over the years and it was time like other communities to make changes. By doing so they decided the name needed to be changed. So, along with electing a mayor and incorporating the community the name was changed to the Town of Susan Moore.
What a priceless treasure that one lady had a family that loved and honored her so much that she will live for many years in the hearts and lives of so many that walked the halls of Susan Moore Elementary and High School.
I can say with pride, so many of my family walked with pride the halls of Susan Moore High School.
