Darce Herman McKennon, 79, died Saturday, February 28, 2004, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born April 10, 1924, in Henry County, Tennessee, to Lee Clark and Virda Lindsey McKennon. He was a native of Paris, Tennessee, and had resided in Nettleton for the past 20 years. He was a retired tool and die supervisor for Universal Mfg. in Mendenhall. Her was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the Nettleton First Baptist Church. He enjoyed going fishing and doing woodworking.

Services were at the Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Nettleton with Dr. Keith Dowden officiating. Burial was in the Nettleton Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Martha Clytie Sherman McKennon of Nettleton; one daughter, Eva Lynn Evans of Arlington, Texas; one son, Roger Darce McKennon and his wife, Silvia, of Denver, Colo.; two sisters, Betty Barrett and her husband, Clint, and Earlene White, all of Paris, Tenn.; one brother, Wade McKennon of Lexa, Ark.; six grandchildren, Gordon McKennon, Matthew McKennon, Natalie McKennon, Eric Evans, Jason Evans, Melissa Evans; three great-grandchildren, Ethan McKennon, Taylor McKennon, Jordan Cornelius.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, four brothers and one grandchild.

Pallbearers were Micky Laney, L.Q. Hodges, Dub Harris, Glyn Hester, Bobby Tidwell and Charles Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Buddy Tidwell, Durrell Hall, Lester Weeks, Bobby Smith Donny Conn and Henry Brown.
