Prudence (Minor) Denison Sprague

Daughter of Joseph Minor and Mary Avery, granddaughter of four pilgrims; Thomas Minor of Somerset and Grace Palmer of England, Captain James Avery and Joanna Greenslade, both of Devonshire.

Wife of Joseph Denison, the son of pilgrims George Denison and Mercy Gorham. They were married Feb 07/17, 1705 and had thew following children:

Joseph died in 1724 in New London.

Secondly, Prudence was the second wife of Benjamin Sprague, the son of Lt John Sprague and Lydia Goffe. They were married Jan 26, 1726 in Stonington, and had no children. After her death, Benjamin married Abigail Hodge and had eight children including Captain Elkanah Sprague of the Revolutionary War.

Prudence has this stone in Old Taugwonk Cemetery with her first husband, parents and several of her children, and a stone in Old Cemetery next to Benjamin's first wife, Mary Woodward.
