She was born Martha Eleanor Harrison to Sara Jane Tyree and Charlie David Harrison, Sr. on August 4, 1923 in McLain, MS. She was the oldest of 6 children.
She is preceded in death by two sons, David Minchew & Larry Minchew; one daughter, Christine Minchew and her great-grandson Stewart Ray Weaver. She is also preceded in death by one sister, Rachel Harrison Stewart Paul and two brothers, Henry Harrison and Charlie David Harrison, Jr. and her son-in-law, Wayne Anderson.
She is survived by her five children: Rose Marie Weaver of McIntosh, AL.; Jerry (Vickie) Minchew of Chattanooga, TN; Thomas R. Minchew of Saraland, AL; Janice Lee Anderson of Theodore, AL and Wanda Sue (Lamar) McGrew of Silas, AL; two stepdaughters, Norma Richardson of Irvington, AL and Barbara (Al) White of Hollingers Island, AL ; one stepson, Harold Greer of Spanish Fort, AL; eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Frances "Baby" Viola McDonald of Woolmarket, MS and by her brother Bill Harrison of Gulfport, MS.
The visitation will be held on Friday January 10, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with the funeral at 1:00 p.m with Reverend Brenda Smith officiating. The location is Norris Funeral Home at 402 E. 2nd Street, Bay Minette, AL 36507 (251-937-9596). Graveside and burial will be at Dean Cemetery, Bay Minette, AL.
