George Fix, county treasurer of DuPage county died Friday at his home in Wheaton. He had been ill for a year.
Mrs. Cora Kuhn Martin, his chief deputy and the daughter of A. A. Kuhn, for many years county clerk, was elected by the board of supervisors to succeed Mr. Fix.
Mr. Fix, a Republican, was a political leader in DuPage county for many years. He was a member of the board of supervisors for 11 years.
Mr. Fix is survived by the widow and by two sons born to his first wife, George B. and Ralph, both of Wheaton.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m. from the home. Burial was in Naperville cemetery on Sunday.
