Mrs. Mary Cardoza Johnasen, former Hiloite, died in Honolulu Wednesday following a short illness. Burial took place Friday at the Nuuanu cemetery.
Mrs. Johnasen was born in Ookala, Hawaii, on February 12, 1892. Surviving her are the widower John G. Johnasen, who was formerly connected with the Hilo federal building as a fireman; two sons, Donald and Isaac, and two daughters, Margaret and Edith, all of Honolulu. Mrs. Johnasen had many friends in Hilo during her residence here.
Also surviving are her father, John V. Cardoza of Ookala, four brothers, Manuel, Daniel, John and Douglas, and five sisters, Mrs. William G. Aiona and Mrs. Margaret Adrian, who were at her bedside in Honolulu, and Mrs. Louisa Ah Choy, Mrs. Adelaide Loyola, and Mrs. Palmyra Johnasen, all of Ookala.
