Officiating will be the Rev. Mitchell Phillips, pastor of Allison Baptist Church, assisted by the Rev. Ross Dunn, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery under direction of Wright Funeral Home.
Mr. Burks, a native of Cleburne, died Wednesday night in Parkview Hospital here after an illness of one month.
He had lived in Wheeler County since 1937. He married Linda Morris on Dec. 25, 1914, at Chillicothe. She preceded him in death.
He was a Methodist.
Surviving are three sons, Raymond of Wheeler, Bryan of Alvin and Wayne of Richmond, Va.; three daughters, Mrs. Opal Lake of 1902 Highland and Mrs. C.T. Cummings of 3411 Martin Road, both in Amarillo, and Mrs. Harold Jones of Albuquerque; two sisters, Mrs. Fay Whitener of Levelland and Mrs. Viola Atwood of Pampa; 19 grandchildren.
