Carroll F. Griebling, age 71, of Kings Corners East Road, died Saturday morning April 12, 2003 in his home following a short illness.

Carroll was born August 18, 1931, in Mansfield, on the family's Cook Road farm, to William L. and Viola Clever Griebling, was graduated from Lexington High School in 1949, and had been a lifelong area resident.

A lifelong farmer, he also worked as a mechanic for Suburbanite Motors, Morehead Ford Agency, and R. G. Beer Corp.

Carroll was an avid collector of antique tractors and enjoyed restoring them. He was a member of Morrow County Antique Tractor & Equipment Association, Massie Collector's Club and the Richland County Steam Thrashers Club. He was also a NASCAR racing fan.

A loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his wife Faye E. Hawks Griebling whom he married August 30, 1953; two daughters and a son-in-law Jeanne A. Griebling of Westlake and Joan K. and Randy E. Carroll of Lexington; two grandsons Matt and Marc Carroll; and three sisters-in-law Helen Griebling of Ibague, Columbia, South America, Eleanor Griebling of Mansfield and Ruth Ann Griebling of Lexington; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved pets.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers George, Robert and Lester Griebling.

Friends may call from 5-8 pm Monday April 14, 2003 in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:30 am with The Rev. David Pound officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery.
