GEORGE H. SMITH CALLED BY DEATH
SERVICES SATURDAY FOR FINDLAY MAN
George Henry Smith, 91, a carpenter, died in the Hancock County Home at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday following an illness of one year.
Born Sept. 9, 1865 in Van Buren Township, he was a son of Peter and Mary (Heckler) Smith. He married Mary L. Rauch Aug. 8, 1889, and she survives.
There are ten children: Mrs. Clara Arras, Daniel, Harvey and Ben, of Findlay; Mrs. Minnie Champion, San Gabriel, Calif.; Harry, Arlington; Mrs. Margart Loftus, Lincoln Park, Mich.; Stanley Robert, and Mrs. Hulda Thomas of Toledo and Mrs. Alma Muse, Detroit. Also surviving are 33 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Smith was the last of a family of 12.
Services will be held in the Daily Funeral Home, Arlington, at 10 a.m. Saturday, the Rev. Willard O. Drefke officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today.
