SPANISH AMERICAN WAR VETERAN WIDOW

On 6 Feb 1956, Anna Theresa "Annie" White, 78, a resident of King County, Washington, stated she was born in Quebec, Canada on August 15, 1877. She was the daughter of Luke Houle and Agnes Elie, both born in Quebec.

She was applying for admission to the Washington Veterans' Home at Retsil with eligibility for being the widow of Wilhelm White, who was a veteran of the Spanish American War. They had married August 3, 1908 at Lowell, Massachusetts and had been together until his death on October 10, 1924.

The couple had five children - Alvin White of New Baltimore, Michigan; Isabel Van Rossum of Lynden, Washington; Anita Morrison of Seattle; Willie White of New Orleans, Louisiana; and Edmond White of Fort Worth, Texas.

Mrs. White passed away at the Home Hospital on November 16, 1968. A funeral mass was held November 19 at Lady Star of the Sea Church in Bremerton with burial at Home Cemetery.
