Lloyd K. Cornwell, 89, of Bowling Green died at 1:50 p.m. Jan. 2, 2003, at a Bowling Green nursing home.

The Allen County native was a retired rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, a World War II Navy veteran, a member of American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the former Kerr Memorial United Methodist Church. He was a son of the late E.E. Cornwell and Lucy King Cornwell.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Faith United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with burial in Fairview Cemetery No. 2. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Faith United Methodist Church, 380 Veterans Memorial Lane, Bowling Green, KY 42101.

Survivors include his wife, Sara Kerr Cornwell; three daughters, Martha Ann Seward of Louisville, Linda Harrington of Crozet, Va., and Cindy Hobbs of Atlanta; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
