She was 19 years old when she married John Caswell Mulkey in Berwyn, Pickens Co, OK (Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory (Oklahoma) on September 14, 1898.

Elsie gave birth to Charles Sanford on September 17, 1899.

On June 2/4, 1900,
Elsie & John S. Mulkey, ages 21 & 27, owned a home in
Justice Precinct 1, Hall Co, TX. John's occupation was shown as a capitalists. They had been married one year; Elsie had given birth to 1 child, Charlie S., age 8 months.

She alleges that they were married in Carter County, September 14, 1898, and have one child, a son 19 years of age. She alleges that the defendant abandoned and deserted her more than a year ago. She asks for the custody of their minor child."

On January 17, 1920,
Elsie, age 41, divorced, lived with her brother-in-law, James H. & wife, May M., ages 38 & 32, in a home they owned located on C street in Ardmore Ward, Carter Co, OK. They had a daughter, Lena, age 11. Thomas was the proprietor of a ready-to-wear store.

Elsie's son, Charles S. Mulkey, age 20, single, was living in Wilson, Carter Co, OK with his father, John, age 47, who had remarried. His wife was Ina, age 34.

Mrs. O.A. Sparks entertained on Tuesday afternoon with a miscellaneous shower in honor of Miss Alynne Suggs who is to be married on October 18. A very large basket was carried to the bride-elect by little Misses Ruth Thomas and Frances Sparks, which was so heavy laden that the little ladies were assisted by Mrs. O.A. Sparks and Mrs. Elsie Mulkey. Mrs. Mulkey in a very dignified and lovable manner presented the basket to the bride-to-be. Miss Alynne received many nice and valuable tokens for the afternoon. refreshments of punch and cake were served. Out of town guest were Miss Vera Olive and her sister, Mrs. Evans and little son, of Ardmore."


News about the death of Theodore Fryback, a bachelor, was published in The Daily Ardmoreite on October 19, 1933. He died in Elsie's home in Berwyn on October 18. Theodore, sometimes known as Wills, had been living with her Henderson family for 56 years.

Services for Charles S. Mulkey, 49, formerly of this county, who died April 6 in a Denver hospital following a brief illness, will be in the First Baptist church of Gene Autry at 3 p.m. Sunday. He was born Sept. 17, 1899, in Gene Autry.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Elsie Mulkey, Gene Autry, and a daughter, Miss Elsie Ruth Mulkey, Mitchell, Neb. He was a nephew of Mrs. Claude C. Thomas here and Mrs. Charles C. Henderson, Gene Autry. Mrs. Thomas lives at 17 A street northeast."

"Clint Dove, an Ardmoreite longer than may people even live, had his 90th birthday Saturday and he had a big parry put on by his fellow Ardmore Optimist club members at Elmbrook Nursing Home where cling has taken refuge these days. ...

Clint was born on Dec. 12, 1880, and has been an Ardmoreite since he was 14. The Optimist birthday party was one of three for his 90th. The Rainbow girls went to Elbrook for a part Friday, and Elmbrook itself put on one for clint and for Mrs. Elsie Mulkey, 91; ..."
